Native fauna of Uruguay

Thank author of this post/commentAs I understand it, the countries in the famous "triangle" at the tip of South America, have a nature that is more similar to the European than to the Amazon basin, rain forests of the northern areas.

If this is so, then the fauna of these areas is also similar to that found in temperate North America and Europe.

I am refering to elk, bears, mountain lions, wolves, etc.

We have a group of high school students who are preparing a report on this issue and would like more information.

We would appreciate any resources like web pages, etc. that we can use in our report.
