Meet Young Uruguayans!

I won't lie, Uruguay is a very popular destination for retirees, but that doesn't mean that EVERYONE here is 60+!! It can be frustrating to find young people in Montevideo but they exist I swear!

Young Uruguayans can be hard to get hold of when you first move here, they work a lot, they go to university until late at night and then they all live with their families and many don't have disposable income for nightlife like in many European or American cities. It is not impossible however and I have made some great Uruguayan friends here.

One thing I would highly recommend is the Couch Surfing Network. This was started as a means to travel for free and stay in local people's houses but it is also a cultural exchange. You can join the Montevideo or Uruguay groups and find out about events and meetings.

And set up you profile here on Total Uruguay and you'll find there are actually quite a number of young expats here too!
