| Best Places To liveHi to all. I am wondering if I can be able to find information in there with regards to the best places to stay in the country of Uruguay. I would like to stay there for good and so it would be great to hear from all of you guys with regards to my concern. Any useful links would be great as well. Thanks a lot and have a great day to all. |
| "Narrow your options."
Hi Macky. City, small town or country? Coast or interior? Is it for tourism, are you planning to work, or is it for retirement? |
| "MACKY, I too would like some help...."
Hi Macky et al, I am wondering where a great place to live is, as well. We moved from D/FW area to Costa Rica, site unseen, in August 2008. Although we love it and so do our kids, we are always keeping our options open. We are wanting to be in a quaint type of town, with good weather. Possibly very near the coast, but not necessary. We do have 2 kids, ages 9 & 6, so kid friendly would be best. We love the culture and are very interested in any thoughts or ideas from Alberto or anyone. We would so appreciate it. And, if you want information on Costa Rica, please don't hesitate to contact me. Pura Vida y Gracias, Danna |
| "Good weather and other details."
Well, quaint is rather subjective. I would say Colonia is somehow quaint. The rest of Uruguay is quite "normal". "We love the culture", well..., Costa Rica's "culture" may be quite different than that of Uruguay, though there are points in common. And the characteristic which I doubt more about is "good weather". It depends of where you come from. If you come from Alaska, Canada or Sweden, you may consider Uruguayan weather is good. Also, if you don't like heat and come from very hot areas, you may find it is good weather. However, I think Costa Rica has better weather than Uruguay the whole year long. Winter in Uruguay is not to be cataloged as "good weather. I think we fill the rest of the needs: kid-friendly, and very nice beaches (again, quite different of those of Costa Rica). |
