| Vineyards Anyone have any suggestions and/or information on visiting vineyards in Uruguay? I have heard most are concentrated north of Montevideo. Is that correct? |

Vineyards are found all over the ROU but the greatest concentrations are north of MVD and around Carmelo in Colonia. Juan Carrau who make my favourite tannat and cabernet sauvignon is way up north in Rivera.There used to be a vineyard/bordega 2kms from me towards Colonia Valdense but it went bust 2 years ago and the new owners now just grow grapes for sale to other winemakers. |

This one its just 20 ming away from the down town. They have tour guided in english and other activities to do at the place as a old car exibition, and a nice restaurant. |

Hi We visited the Stagnari vineyard too last summer, which was a great day for us. There are of course others too. Most seem to be in state of Canalones. Below is a link to help you locate the ones/s you want to visit. It's best to give them a call first. Best, Fred. |
