Quads, A.T.Vs on the roads

Thank author of this post/commentCan anybody tell me what the laws are with respect to using Quad bikes on the roads in Uruguay.Are they legally permitted on the roads? are you allowed to carry passengers?

Hi Bruce

Well, this info is not going to help you with the law, but I can tell you that quad bikes are a popular form of transport in La Paloma. As for carrying passengers - the most we have seen on one bike is 7 people and a dog!

Hopefully someone can help you with some useful information!

If the quad is plated and insured then yes, it can be ridden on the road. I don't know whether the rider is supposed to wear a crash helmet... around here few people wear them in spite of the law.
