| Pluna Airlines Baggage Restrictions We are booked on a Pluna Airlines flight from Buenos Aires to Montevideo.I have just read details of their baggage requirements and am wondering if others who have flown on Pluna can share some personal experiences with this. Their baggage weight limits are lower than any other airline I am familiar with, but if we have to pay for any excess--well, so be it. What I am mostly concerned about are the stated restrictions on carry on baggage. Size limitation is 40cm x 32cm x 20 cm with a maximum of 8 kg. Do they really check and enforce these limits? We each have a medium size carry on--but neither is within these limits. (They are nothing like those big, heavy roller bags that most people have now. Those things couldn't possibly meet the Pluna requirements.) One of our carry ons is a backpack that holds our computer. No way would I check that! Any experiences and/or advice would be much appreciated. |

I have not had any problems with carry on luggage on Pluna between Montevideo and Asuncion. For checked baggage you need to pay. You get so many kilos for a fee and after that it is by the kilo. It is not by the bag.You can save 5 bucks on that if you check is on the web. However, it doesn't save anyone any time or effort. Also on the MVD-ASU flights they include all the airport taxes. The airplanes are new, but claustrophobic... watch your head if you are tall. Expert Page: Quick Tips for Getting Settled in Uruguay |

Remember that if you have luggage problems with PLUNA you may also try the ferry service from BUE to MVD a less than 3 hour trip. |

Buquebos also has flights. Especially if your plans are downtown and not catching a connecting flight... I think Buquebus ferry will be cheaper and faster. No expensive transfers to the airports in Mvd or Buenos Aires and no waiting at the airports. Thanks for the suggestions about the ferry. However, we already have tickets on Pluna. |
