| Montevideo Maps Does anyone know where I could buy a decent road map of the city of Montevideo (and beyond)? I've bought three so far. The print is too small for me to read without daylight. Some roads are missed off print and the current one and despite folding it to its original shape and putting it back carefully back into it's plastic container has decided to tear itself in half. :-) Thanks Fred |

Hi there!! i know the petrol stations Ancap sell maps, , , The book shops also sell maps but I never get one there so i did not have any experience with that kind of shops. Good luck!! |

There's a shop on the south-west corner of Soriano and Convención, the name of which escapes me, that sells maps of all sorts: street maps, deparment maps ad nauseum - a great collection and helpful staff. |

hi!Ive been trying to find a tour guide book with all the maps and buses and streets etc but havent found one yet. its a small book, usually can fit in your pocket. any idea where to buy one? thanx! |

PaoNatiss, The ''Guia De Montevideo - Eureka Pocket edition'' is available in the libraries or at a few kiosco. I believe cost is around $200 and this guide covers MVD and has the bus lines as well! Different size are available including a pocket size. |
| "Punto Map"
There is also a map called "Punto" that covers the main parts of MVD, shows the bus routes and terminals, has a street index, shows a few tourist sites. It also has block numbers so you can find find, for example, Rivera 2753 fairly easily. What it does not show is the direction the buses are running (so you can't see which streets are one-way in which direction). I forget what it cost, I think it was under U$S10. |
