| Hotels We plan to stay three nights in Colonia before heading to MVD. Does anyone have a hotel suggestion in Colonia? Something in between backpacker and 5 star? |
| "Radisson Colonia"
HiI read some reviews on the Radisson on Trip Advisor, after promotions were advertised for doubles at $56 pp/pn. Seems to be good service, rooms looked good, with nice grounds. I did notice that the hotel was a little way out of town, so a car might be important. I suggest taking a look on Trip Advisor for some guest opinion, but I just checked the Radisson website and their offer is still on. Let me know what you think and if you stay there please let me know your thoughts as we are heading to Colonia soon too. Regards Fred |

Colonia del S is not a big city. From the map shown on the hotel's website, it looks to be only 10 or 15 minutes walk from the BQB terminal and very close to the Barrio Historico.You can rent little electric cars to explore locally... though one word of warning. A friend of mine rented one and parked it outside a restaurant where he went for lunch. After lunch he drove out along the Real de San Carlos but after 10 minutes or so he realised that he'd taken the wrong electric car. It seems that many of the ignition keys are interchangeable so make sure you drive off in the right one :-) |
