What exactly do you mean by "can't change the setting"? Which setting?And according to the Magic Jack website, this only works from a foreign country TO the US or Canada, not foreign country to foreign country. Who are you trying to call? Do you have the regular MJ or the MJ Plus? |

OK, next questions: Is the headphone mic connection via usb or phono jack? What brand/model headphones are you using? What operating system is in your computer? Is it in English or Spanish? Or something else? Do you have a program that will record your voice (from either microphone) so you can test the headphone mic? |

I thought magic jack was a device you plugged into your USB port and then plugged a regular telephone into it? That avoids all kinds of issues with sound cards, headsets, microphones and the like.Of course, you could plug a regular "headset telephone" into the telephone jack instead of a standard phone. Magic Jack now has an APP to use, without the thing you plug into the computer.That is what I am using now. The headphones plug into the side of the computer. I use a MAC. The head phones are very good. I really think the issue is that there is a setting which is STUCK. If someone is familiar with how to communicate with Majic Jack people that might help. OK, obvious question: is the a microphone attached to the headphones? Usually, the mic part of the headphones is connected to the computer via a USB port, the headphone part plugged into the headphone jack. Is that what you have? Which model Mac are you using? This is useful info because, for example, the latest MacBook Pro has an audio line in, the MacBook Air does not. Which OS version? And all I can find about a Magic Jack app is one that runs on the iPhone. Are you using a Mac computer or an iPhone? If it is a Mac computer, where did you find the app (so I can go look at it)? There is a link at the bottom of the Magic Jack home page, "Customer Care/Live Agent." Try that. And have the answers to my questions handy, they will probably want that info. |
