Forum Post01/11/10 17:59physically Brazil, mentally Uruguay | running clubs Does anybody know if there are any running clubs in Uruguay especially in the Moldonado and Rocha areas. Thanks |
| "Outdoor Activities in Maldonaldo"
I've never specifically heard of any running clubs but judging by the number of people who participate in Nike 10k run here in Montevideo and the Punta del Este Marathon (which will take place in September 2010) and the number of people always running on the rambla...there are a lot of people interested! However it also struck me as more of a solo activity here, I've never seen people running in groups, though I have seen a lot of cycling groups. There is a facebook page called "Andar en Bici, Correr, Caminar en Punta del Este" (if you google that name you'll find it) and that might help you meet people who would know about running groups in Maldonaldo (I think you might be pushing your luck for that kind of thing in Rocha). Here's the page about the Punta del Este Marathon, maybe checking out the links or connecting through facebook with the most recent visitors to that page you'll stumble upon a group. Good luck! |
