URUGUAY QUE NO NI NO.

Thank author of this post/commentCongratulations to Uruguay to move on to the Semifinals of the World Cup.

The passion, courage, dignity and love for their Country is always there in any Player who wear the Sky Blue.

It's called "Garra Charrua"

Winning or loosing it's always there.

Proud to be Uruguayan everyday.

Thank author of this post/comment"Uruguay 1 (4) : Ghana 1 (2)"

It was really exciting to watch the match...the true is they were a good match for us, and seemed to have the luck on our side, not to mention the hand of Suarez, that although not an elegant measure, saved the game really.

Couldn't believe how they missed the penalty afterwords, -this guy must will regret his error for the rest of their days I could imagine -and although we were even, this was a psychological defeat for them. Although we missed one penalty, our goalkeeper saved more shoots than theirs...and whatever we could say, football is about the score at the end of the game...

The city went crazy afterward..and myself, wife and friends went out to the streets....bring it on, sent some text to Nigel, which I guess must have been sleeping at the time...

It may well be our finest moment for us in this cup, since Holland is in another league really, and we will be very impaired without Lugano (injured) and Suarez that was burned to save this game.

Anyway we can not but congratulate for what they achieved, being the football team of a 3 million people country, with limited budget. I have to say i am far from be a football fanatic, but moments like this we can only but enjoy..

Bring it on what is the score!!!!..

Thank author of this post/comment"3 hours of honking"

During the game, the city was a ghost town, there was barely a single car on the Rambla. After 10 minutes after the game ended, the inbound lanes of the Rambla were bumper to bumper with traffic and everyone honking their horns and yelling. That went on for nearly 3 hours.

Thank author of this post/comment"Arriba Uruguay!!! Uruguay Arriba!!!"

We went out for a walk around El Prado and were absorbed into the emotion of the moment.

I'm so happy for Uruguay!

Holland is very tough, but you never know, little Uruguay could end up pulling through on defense and a bit of luck. (o:

Banco Santander in Colonia Valdense has installed a big monitor for staff and customers to watch the games.

It seems that we are now the last South Americans still standing.

Thank author of this post/comment"Sonar no cuesta nada."

Yes, Uruguay is the last survivor of all the South American teams.

I was hoping for a final four all South American.

Holland is a very tough team and probably if they beat the "amazing Uruguay" they will win the World Cup.

Suarez (magic hand) who is the top scorer in Holland playing for the Ajax will miss the game and that is a big loss for Uruguay, also Lugano and Fucile.

We will see Caceres, Lodeiro will start and what I think it will be a very important move, put Gargano in the middle were everybody is tired for their unbelievable efforts, not just against Ghana also against South Korea.

Just imagine what happens in Uruguay if they win the World Cup again.

I'm wearing the same shorts and shirt (without washing) for 5 games and in the last game I sweat(for obvious reasons)they will call me stinking Jorge but nothing will change just in case.

I like to see the Uruguayan people happy.

I would like to know what happens if Uruguay and Spain were going to the final, for whom the old Gallegos will be cheering?.

Thank author of this post/comment"Old Gallegos & Stuff"

The Gallegos are the Celtics (with a 'Ka' sound, not the basketball team) of Spain. For many thousands of years they've wandered the globe, as mercenaries, plunderers, slaves, poets, and minstrels. The ones here in my family will root for the country they are in, por su puesto.>)

A really cool thing I saw was when I went downtown MVD to the central office of Antel to get my Air Card replaced. The had a large TV set up, with La Celeste flying everywhere inside and ballons too!!!

I thought that was bitchin'. We are pretty lucky to be Second Class Uruguayans! Maybe they are in the top four countries of the world in other areas as well. They may be actually number 1 in independence, hehe. (o:

Jorge, que pasa, tienes una cabala? Probable estas haciendo nada mas fuerte que olor! jeje. :o)
