It was an outstanding performance. With the red-carders back on Saturday let's hope that we can beat Spain to third place.

Uruguay never played good for third, maybe this year, like a lot of other things that too will be different.

It's just a bit disappointing that during the group matches up until the round of 16, South American countries were enjoying the dominance. Aside from Chile (who lost to Brazil in the round of 16), all South American participants advanced to the quarterfinals. But not games come to good endings, and so one by one, South Americans started exiting the world cup, with Uruguay being the last.

The 3-2 lost against Netherlands is very much acceptable though. Let's give credit to the good gameplay the Dutch gave against our Uruguayan brothers.

Netherlands will play whoever wins in the Spain vs. Germany match. I have a good feeling the Germans will have a good chance for their 4th World Cup title, although the power of the Spaniards is something that must not be taken for granted. The Dutch as well showed a lot of potential as a football superpower during this world cup. So far they are the only team who has yet to experience a loss in the game. 6-0-0 is their standing for this year's cup.

It would be great if they could capture the Third Place title though, because Fourth is usually seen as just an "also ran".
