....Randy, i don't know about racing in Montevideo but when i was in Piriapolis October 2010 they had a street circuit set up with racing which i think was held around the second weekend of the month. I don't know anything about motor racing but i think they had some drivers/cars from Brazil and Argentina. I think that one of the TV stations had some video of the racing so you might like to do a search and see what comes up. |

| "Piriapolis street circuit racing in October?"
I've been searching and searching and may have found that there is a street racing circuit (possibly formula 3) that races in Piriapolis. It also seems as if they might be racing the first weekend of October. Does this ring a bell with anyone?Thanks!! |

....Randy, you are correct. It is formula 3 and it is held in Piriapolis. I think it covers 2 or 3 days and it is early in Oct.....FYI, my posting #1 on 08/30/11 refers. |

HI, It's not easy getting DEFINITIVE information about the street race in Piriapolis! I got one message from a person who appeared to be a race organizer that said the race was over the weekend of Oct. 7-8. Today I called the Pirapolis tourism office and they said the race was over the weekend of Nov. 5-6. I assume they are talking about the SAME race. I have searched and searched with Google and can't find any racing website that has either of these dates on their racing calendar. This makes it difficult to commit to an airline ticket, etc. Thanks for listening to my rant! Randy |

I'm still trying to confirm if they will be racing on a street circuit in Piriapolis over the weekend of November 5 & 6. This information is not easy to get or confirm. Would anyone happen to know?Thanks! Randy |

I've found it can be difficult to get information. For example, concert tickets can be bought at the various currency exchanges/bill payment centers, ie: Red Pagos and/or Abitab. However, some can only be bought at Red Pagos and others at Abitab. Either way they have a nice purchase system where you can pick out the seats... BUT... there seems to be no comprehensive schedule of events and last time I looked, neither Abitab or Redpagos offer any useful information on their websites.As for events like racing I can't say. But sometimes things aren't "advertised", because "everyone knows". For example, a new expat asked once why everything was closed on May 1st and nobody said anything. Because "everyone" knows... no one has a need to announce it. So, probably "everyone" knows when that race is.
