Professional sports seems to bring out the worst in people! It also appears to do a good job at geographically challenging them!

"The worst in people."

Australians still remember a very sad event, several years ago, when their football team was received at Montevideo airport with insults by a band of Uruguayan hooligans, who were paid "welcome" them by some obscure member of our football maffia. The Uruguayan authorities and the Uruguayan people were surprised and saddened by those few bad Uruguayans. And the image about Uruguay in Australia has suffered a lot. I hope Australians understand someday that we have those fanatics as any other country, but that most Uruguayans are not like that.

I was missing something, the message was from 2005.

Australia is a Country that I have a lot of respect for, because they opened there doors to many many Uruguayans that prospered in that great and beatiful Country.

Being absent for so many years (with in between visits)almost everything changed, most of the time for the worst.

Futbol was a big change for me. My generation went to the Stadium all together, Nacional, Penarol fans next to each other, few Police Officers to keep the peace and that was it. Outside the "Republicana" kept order most of the time. Now they need 5.000 Police Officers for the important games.

I like to participate in Sport Forums and give my opinion but they are talking too much trash and they are so nasty that I quit participating.

But lately I came up with the idea, to offer my serious adult opinion between stupid ones and I put my full name to be as professional as I can and the results are good so far.

They answered my adult opinion the same way. Maybe I'm doing something good and positive.

Most of the Expats know that I'm a Nacional fan, when Nacional started with the Nacional Culture I showed my support for them via e-mail as many times as possible and they reciprocated with good responses, that gave me hope for Futbol in Uruguay.
