Looking for a cheap flight for 2 to Montevideo from Pittsburgh or other east coa
| Looking for a cheap flight for 2 to Montevideo from Pittsburgh or other east coa I need to get to Rocha, Uruguay for the birth of my niece, or nephew. I have a place to stay when I get there, in La Paloma, I just need reasonable rates for myself and my fiance. My family is really counting on me and I can't let them down, espescially my little sister. Any help is greatly appreciated. Muchas Gracias! |
| "American Airlines to Uruguay"
I think American Airlines fly from New York (maybe via Buenos Aires) to Montevideo but there aren't many companies flying between the USA and Uruguay. You might have better look searching flights to Buenos Aires and then getting a quick boat across the river. |
| "American Airlines"
I think you can easily book a flight via American Airlines from most any major airport in the USA and connect via Miami. Pick the right days and it will be Miami to Montevideo non-stop. The wrong days and it will stop in Buenos Aires. |
| wow! i also want to travel in that place. It is very nice to travel and I really love meeting new people and discover unique culture and customs of different people. I hope that you can find a cheap way to go there.Uruguay is a very beautiful place so enjoy your trip! |

I like using American Airlines website, but finding the "all carriers" under other options and search every possible day. Sometimes you'll find some great deals... like MVD-MIA for $500 when most of the rates are $1500+.In that case the outbound and return were only available on certain days, and the flight was a bit round about... Its a bewildering market. In June last year I found flights from Buenos Aires to Europe for an amazing 646 U$S. This year they cost almost twice that figure. I live in hope of Snr Lopez Mena getting a licence for Buquebus to fly MVD - MAD sometime soonish. |
| "Flight prices make no sense except to gamers at airlines"
South American flight prices are far from competitive because there are no visibly enforced regulations against either price-fixing or discrimination based on a passengerīs national origin. When Aerolineas Argentinas (then a Spanish corporation) began to charge Argentines or Mercosur residents one price and tourists another for Argentine cabotage(i.e., internal) flights I stopped flying them altogether. Obviously, they couldnīt even use patriotism as an excuse. Now Peruvian air carriers are imitating the behavior although some are not Peruvian owned and LAN Argentina is also running the dual price system on cabotage flights. The quick and easy answr is that tit is a requirement of the local regulatory authorities - but, puleeze, does anyone really think that the governments , on their own, would do something so certain to antagonize tourists from abroad? And, Peter, Sr. Lopez Mena undoubtedly has wondrful plans for wider air service on routes where Pluna canīt demand a monompoly as the "national" carrier, but have you noted a wave of discounts on his boats? Apart from the midnight run from Bs As or the pre-dawn sailing from Colonia, that is? Expert Page: Enjoy life a bit at Feligreta |

I visit Bs As from Colonia every so often taking the 4.30am slow ferry and a rapid ferry back. Including the cheapo pre-dawn discount and the pensioner's discount, the trip costs me about 700 pesos.Being a sad tobacco addict I can buy 800 Camel cigarettes for about 1000 pesos in Lopez Mena's duty free. Thus tickets and ciggies cost itro 1700 pesos saving myself about 1100 pesos on the cost of 4 cartons bought locally. Over the last 2 months I've been getting freebie tickets from Lopez Mena while escorting a local friend who has cancer on his daily visits to the Fleming Institute in Bs As so now I have more camels that the King of Saudi Arabia :-) |
| "cheap air fare"
In August I purchased a return ticket: Montreal - Miami, Miami, Montevideo and it came to under 1300$ Cdn.; leaving the evening of the 1st, arriving the morning of the second, departing just before midnight on the 28, arriving home the morning of the 29th. There's an hour and a half stopover in Miami, both ways, which I felt was do-able since it was with the same airline so I shouldn't have baggage handling issues. All legs of the journey are on American Airlines. You can join their club and collect travel points as well. ... and, no, I don't get a commission for recommending them. I did a lot of shopping and they were the best in terms of both price and travelling time. |
