Spices in the food

Thank author of this post/commentIs the food bland in this country? My understanding is that mexican food is really not spicy at all, but rather bland.

Thank author of this post/commentWhat does Mexican food have to do with Uruguay? There are a few Mexican restaurants in Montevideo. One of them I've found will make spicy food, the other two don't.

Though Uruguay and Mexico may both be in "Latin America" they are not similar. They are not even closed. To get to the Southern most point in Central America from Uruguay you have 7-1/2 hrs of flying time.

Thank author of this post/commentThat's a pretty broad leap to assume that Mexican food is what Uruguayans prepare and eat. It's also a weird assumption that Mexican food isn't spicy. It most certainly is.

Thank author of this post/commentWhere did you buy your Mexican food? LOL! The dishes that I bought was flavorful. The only dish that I had that wasn't flavorful was a serving of garlic shrimp that I had in Cozumel.

People from different parts of the globe have various preference on food and their cuisines. Some may prefer a saltier taste while other goes for a sweeter one. It all boils down to the individual and how they appreciate their dishes. If the Uruguayans dish doesn't include chilis or any spice then it is their preference, no big deal. To them it might be a great dish, while to you it is just plain bland. No need to compare dishes.

For the nonspellers: Urugauy and Monte Video is Montevideo (monte-vid-day-o), real estate agents are "Inmobiliaria", and of course Uruguay is not spelled Uraguay. 882889935
