Rural east Colonia departmento

Small farm with nice house

Five years ago I spent 6 months doing a systematic search for such a place in east Colonia without success so I finally bought land and rebuilt/ extended the existing ruined house. The general view in these parts is that people will only live in the campo if they are serious farmers, are antisocial hermits, are very poor or are on the run so it was quite difficult to find a smallish bit of land with a nice rural house away from the popular ex-pat areas.

Below is a link to my local rural inmobilario who also sells property nationwide for general information. Bear in mind that inmobilarios charge 3% and that there is a "temporary" 10% agricultural land sales tax in force at present. It may give you a few ideas but you really do need to come and see for yourself.
