| Room for rent A Uruguayan friend of mine has an apartment downtown and is renting out a room. She is a young lawyer (30s) who loves tango but she only speaks Spanish so its a great opportunity for someone to improve their language, live with a Uruguayan, get to know lots of locals and really integrate. It is a decent sized room with a single bed, bed-side table, desk with chair, big wardrobe. It also has a window that opens in to the interior of the building. The apartment is fully furnished and has everything you need - tv, washing machine, gas cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, wifi internet etc. Its also really close to everything - 3 blocks to the rambla, 3 blocks to 18 de Julio and right beside a big supermarket and all the bus routes. This is a great little spot but it is not for someone passing through who expects to live like they do in the US/Europe. This is an opportunity for someone looking to stay in Montevideo for a while, speak Spanish, live with a local, get to really know the culture and enjoy the Uruguayan way of life. The rent is US$230 a month including all costs (gastos comunes, internet, gas, electricity, taxes etc), its a really good deal. |
