Is it possible to hire a year-round gardener in Piriapolis? The reason I ask, is that I like the houses that I am seeing better than the condos. I guess I am just not an apartment dweller type person.
But if you have a house that you are not living in for 8 months out of the year, it looks like no one is living there. A weekly gardening service would go along ways towards eliminating that problem.

Yes. You can hire gardners and pool maintenance service in Piriapolis. Garden maintenance can be a little odd in Piria. Because we dont get a lot of rain in the summer and it's not likely you'll have sprinklers, gardeners usually quote you 3 visits per week.
It's going to cost you anywhere from UYU1200 to UYU1500/month.
Cant speak for everyone but I provide the lawn mower. My guy brings his own trimmer.

The "week" that I change to "month", would mean that they come by 3 times per month? I was thinking: U$1200 for 12 visits a month! Those poor guys are working for peanuts.
It sounds like having a gardener would actually be less expensive than paying gastos in a condo.
If I have a gardener for year round and I am in America for 8 months out of the year, how are arrangements made to get the gardener his money? Even if he is only giving 3 visits a month, he isn't making enough money that he can wait 8 months between paychecks.

It is good you are not an apartment dweller sort of person. Could I say you are more in touch with nature? Getting a gardener would not be hard for you because there are a host of them out there willing to get a job and get well paid so settle on a good pay. Perhaps you could also consider doing this on a monthly basis? The weather there seems quite user friendly, isn't it?

During their absence they get the local branch of Banco Santander to pay their gardener and cleaner on a fortnightly basis.
