| FSBO in Spanish? What is FSBO (For sale by Owner) in Spanish? Are there some other common real estate abbreviations we should know? |
| I've seen signs that say "se vende por el dueno" which means "for sale by owner" but I've never seen it abbreviated.I doubt they abbreviate many things in Spanish because when they do they double the initials so its not as convenient as in English (for example the United States is Estados Unidos but they write EEUU) |
| There is no abbreviation. It is usually just stated as "Dueño Vende". To clarify what Elaine says, the double letter in the abbreviations in Spanish is used when it refers to a word in plural. Estados Unidos is plural and that is why it is abbreviated as EE.UU. The Uruguayan IRS is called DGI which means Direccion General Impositiva. In that case the letters are not doubled. |
| ahh ok, thanks for clarifying ;) |
| Often when you call about a property if the owner is selling/renting it they make sure you are not an agent. People should just start using FSBO until it catches on. |
| Why on earth should they start using an english language abbreviation in a spanish speaking country?! Dueño Vende does the job just as well...it doesn't seem to happen as much here though, people choose to use inmobiliarias for whatever reason. |
Comment #609/16/09 21:24Rural east Colonia departmento | Dueño Vende is quite common down here because many of us are so stingy that we're reckoned to have iron elbows :-) |
| Because the phrase "dueno vende" is often NOT used in classified ads here... probably because it costs more to use it than not... so something shorter would be better. |
| "Se Vende Por El Dueno"
Se Vende Por EL Dueno means For sale by owner in spanish!!! this is the most accurate way in saying it and it easy to remember!! Se vende por el duenoFSBO or for sale by owner |
| "Not commonly used."
