Beach Cottage to Rent

Thank author of this post/commentHave to go back to the States for 3 years and need to rent my home. Thatched roof cottage in El Pinar, 20 minutes from MVD.

MUST LOVE CATS AND DOGS.

There must be someone out there for whom this might work. I have to leave my home and animals and will consider a cheap rent in exchange.

698-5033

Hello,

Do you have any pictures that you could post of your home?

Where is El Pinar in relation to Atlantida? I will be in Atlantida on April 10. Could I call you at 698-5033?

How soon do you have to be in the US? What would the rent be? I'm a single lady, 58, looking at retiring to Uruguay. I am still working. I live in western Washington and I love pets.

If someone rented your place who was not a resident, how could they deal with the 90 day visa limit?

Please email me at candy1925@ncplus.net before Tuesday April 8.

Thanks, Candy

Did you rent this yet? It looks like a great opportunity, but I'd be a bit worried about taking care of someone else's pets.

Try visiting this site for a list of for rent cottages in a Montevideo beach. Well it is hard to find the exact offered price of cottages but you can check it out by yourself using the posted link below.

The site also offers a tab where you can type in your budget for lodging and they will give you matching cottages for your budget. I hope this link help you guys..

What are the pros and cons of a long term rental in Rocha vs a long term rental in Atlantida?

Hi Bruce,

Are you speaking about the city of Rocha or the department of Rocha?

If you are speaking about the city of Rocha, well...I lived there one month with my brother-in-law and I can tell you that there is absolutely nothing to do. The worst village I have never been in (with Castillos). I am not a retiree so I am speaking to a point of view of someone who likes a little bit some life in the streets. They are building actually their first supermercado ''Tata'' which the BIG event of the city! People are nice but not very open (it's a very closed society).

However if you are speaking about the department of Rocha, you have La Paloma which is nice along the year but very busy in summertime. La Pedrera which is very quiet during the winter time but busy as La Paloma in summer. Or Punta del Diablo or Aguas Dulces which have a few shops but very minimal during the out off-season.

Advantage of Atlantida is you are not far from MVD and easy to take the bus from and to MVD. Busy in summertime due to the beaches and you have shops and restaurants open during along the year.

In term of beaches, Atlandida is ''small'' compared to the beaches of the department of Rocha. Atlantida is along the Rio de la Plata and not the ocean so clean water to swim? Nop!

La Paloma, La Pedrera, Punta del Diablo have some very nice beaches and you are along the ocean. Big difference for me!

For the nonspellers: Urugauy and Monte Video is Montevideo (monte-vid-day-o), real estate agents are "Inmobiliaria", and of course Uruguay is not spelled Uraguay. 1816459747
