Which Hotel to Chose?

Punta del Este, Uruguay

My friend and I are taking a short trip to Uruguay next month. We are just really planning to relax and lay on the beach. We were looking at some hotels such as: L'Auberge, La Posta del Cangrejo, and La Posada del Faro. We do not plan on renting a car so I we will have to use public transportation. Can anyone recommend a hotel that will be close to attractions?

If you want to be around the nightlife then you should go with La Posta del Cangrejo. If you just want to lay on the beach you should go with a hotel right on the beach or really close to the beach.

I hear that Serena in Punta del Este is a nice place to stay but the area around it looks kind of trashy. This hotel is right on the beach and has a nice bar/restaurant on the inside.
