Any opinions on Jose Ignacio?

Thank author of this post/commentI stumbled across this article on a little town near Punta Del Este called Jose Ignacio and it looks SO beautiful! Does anyone have any experience of the area? Is it full or arrogant rich people or is it actually a gem worth visiting?

It's very nice. And yes there are probably some arrogant rich people as well as some very nice rich folks! There are plenty average people like myself as well. :)

You haven't seen the Coast without going there.

Thank author of this post/commentI may have to put it on my to do list for when the nice weather returns so.

I've seen a lot of the coast - stayed in Santa Lucia del Este many times, spent 2 months in Punta del Diablo, been to Cabo Polonio many times, went camping in La Pedrera and tried out some of the mansions in La Barra in Punta Del Este but Jose Ignacio looks like a nice place, one worth seeing.
