I got an email with the question, "I am currently paying about US$170 per month for both my telephone service and ADSL from Antel combined. Is this high? "First, let me start by saying what I pay. I get separate bills from Antel for Telephone and for ADSL.
My telephone bill is always $224 pesos (US$10.50). I think once in 4 years it was more than that.
My ADSL bill is normally $1800 pesos (US$84) for the 2.5 mb download / 192K upload speed. My most recent bill came and it was for $1, 492 pesos. I have no idea why it was less.
There are a variety of ADSL plans which may start around $390 pesos and go to $2, 940 pesos for residential plans. More for business.
So I pay less than US$100 a month for phone and second to the fastest residential ADSL offered.
You didn't break down the US$170 between the phone and ADSL. So it is hard to judge if you are paying too much. Do you make lots of international calls from your Antel line? Do you make lots of calls to a cellphones? All those costs should be broken down on your bill?
Do you have an ADSL service that is appropriate for your needs?
