Favorite Sea Resort

Thank author of this post/commentPiriapolis is considered the second most premiere resort next to Punta del Este.

The site listed gives the history of this area and also has a link to pictures.

You can also get direction to the area and will give you the listings for high and low seasons. A good read about this area if you are looking to go there to settle or for a vacation.

Thank author of this post/commentAnother site you might want to check out is Coastal Uruguay (see link.)

The info. is geared to people who might want to live in Piriapolis on a full or part-time basis. All the articles/posts have pictures of the area.

PS: We have a second home there and love it.

Just the other day, one of my school mates had been asking me about this sort of stuff in particular. Not sure if it had been due to the little that I had known about the place at that very time, but she is long over it now. She decided to go to the land known as Suriname, instead. Still, it is always good to have nice information about a country though.

Funny way of deciding a destination! Strange destination too!

I think if you did a poll in the USA of strange destinations, you might find that Suriname and Uruguay both would rank as strange and unknown destinations.

How many people in the USA could place their finger on Uruguay or Suriname if given a globe of the world? What about even knowing what continent either are on?

So, you, see, Uruguay and Suriname may be much more alike that we thought!

Of course it may just be that Braun has a strange sense of humor!

Lee,

You are a wise guy that can certainly read between lines. I imagined broun school mate in (Germany?) deciding her travel destination... thousands of miles away to Uruguay (mild climate, beaches, open grasslands, european-like city, with european-like population)... she asked more information from... Braun(?!) not a travel agency but her class mate. And since he was unable to answer with sufficient info) then she decided for Suriname! (hot and humid climate, jungle, but no beaches, small capital city, interesting mix of black, hindu and colonial dutch population). Both destinations were strange, and the decision making process was very funny. Or, braun has a strange sense of humor as you thought in the first place and noted in the last phrase... :)

For the nonspellers: Urugauy and Monte Video is Montevideo (monte-vid-day-o), real estate agents are "Inmobiliaria", and of course Uruguay is not spelled Uraguay. 3736142077
