A friend of ours has a 2 bedroom apartment for rent during the period you're looking for. It's not 2 blocks from the beach. It's a 15 minute walk. Here's the link if you're interested... www.urufish (period) wordpress.com... click on real estate and look for house for rent in piriapolis.

If this doesn't work for you, it's the off season... if you just go and knock on some doors, you will find what you're looking for. apartments are not rented with plastic or travelers cheques. US dollars is the best.
