Can you be a little more specific about your interested in Piriapolis real estate? The size property you are looking for? The price range? Cosmetic remodeling or some serious renovations? Beach front? In Piriapolis property or any of the nearby beaches?

Piriapolis is a smallish town on the south Atlantic coast of Uruguay, its very popular during the summer but I believe it can be quite a ghost town during the winter.

Its not too far from Atlantida (maybe about 40minutes drive?) A great way to check driving distances and times around Uruguay is to use the Tres Cruces bus website.

If you enter your start point and destination it tells you the distance and how long it takes (for a bus...maybe a bit less time when you're not stopping for people).

Piriapolis is, together with Punta del Este and Atlantida, one of the oldest seaside resorts of Uruguay. It has the advantage of being near Montevideo and Punta del Este, about 40 km from Punta and 90 from Montevideo. It is the center of a line of beach villages, going from West to East, Solis, Bella Vista, Las Flores, Playa Verde, Playa Hermosa, Playa Grande, Piriapolis, San Francisco, Punta Colorada and Punta Negra.

One of the most beautiful things of the Piriapolis zone is that you have on one side the sea and on the other the hills, Cerro de los Burros, Pan de Azucar, Cerro del Toro and Cerro San Antonio.

You can also find in the zone two castles built by the Alchemists Antonio Piria and Humberto Pittamiglio.
