| Okay I'm sorry but I don't understand that last post. You state that Uruguayans say "Yankees Go Home" and then make a comment about the people and the government. Are you saying that the people want the Yankees to go home and the Governement wants them to stay? Or are you saying it the other way around. If it is the other way around why say that the Uruguayans made that comment? How can they make that comment and still say that Uruguayans like Americans. It kind of does not make sense to me. |
| I believe when "Yankees Go Home" is said... it refers to George W Bush and not the variety of Americans actually living here. Uruguayan's can easily like the Americans that are living here and dislike the policies of the United States Government. My comment about "people" and "government" referred to the U.S. Government. |
| Okay, now I see where that all makes sense. I too was a little confused about what I had read. Thank you for clarifying it. As far as the policies of the United States, I agree with you. However, I agree that all governments are the downfall of the people. By the time anyone gets to be in power in any country they are usually corrupt already and interested only in how they can line their own pockets. I guess you can tell I'm totally anti-government as it stands in the world today. |
| I am not completely anti government but lately there have been more and more mistakes being made. I understand what you mean. It seems that Bush gets mixed reactions wherever he goes. LOL |

| I have to agree with RiverQueen, the government is indeed the downfall of the people of a country. The image of the people or country, no matter how majestic and powerful they are will always be stained by the twisted management of a corrupt government. If you are a tourist on a country and wanted to enjoy the "joys" of a country then I suggest that you should NOT watch the news because I am sure that you will not be happy (even get disturbed) by the things you are about to see on the news about the country your staying in. |
| News is always very tragic these days, I hate to look at it. I just love to think about the world in a most positive light and hopefully when it is that people are all thinking as such, and collectively so, this would easily make the world a better place. |
