That is what makes the forums great. Things that you don't usually see in Search Engines (like in Google or Yahoo) or got buried under millions of new optimized websites in these engines will end up in the hands of very helpful people like here in the forums. This is why it is great to belong to such online communities like this, is because of the sharing of alternative links, ideas, and information.

Couldn't agree with Jane more than what she said. People in these forums are really helpful and resourceful. If then English is sort of a second language in Uruguay, what is the common Lnguage of Uruguayians?

I have just read that the country's economy was affected by the global economic recession. It seems then that not a single coutry was spared.

Thank author of this post/commentI really wouldn't say that English is a second language here in Uruguay at all! All Uruguayans learn English in school but that does not mean they speak it and you will not find that every second or third person speaks English, its not like Panama.

Spanish is the language of Uruguay (a specific type of Spanish called Rio Platenese - see the link below). This is for the most part quite similar to Spanish from Spain (apart from certain words and the accent).

Thank author of this post/commentHere is a link to what Total Uruguay has... less articles, always a link... but usually just news sources that are English to start with.

With the right person (someone who reads Spanish) working on that could include Spanish sources too.
