Ola Montevideo expats! We are two Canadians currently travelling in Uruguay, checking out the options for investing and possibly living here. We came across a posting for Sunday brunch at 1pm at the Old Maz Deli; is this still happening? It would be great to meet a few people... Trackbacks

Hola,I will be visiting friends in Pinas, Uruguay from feb 23 to march 4. I am flying down from New England and hope to learn more about this pais. My Spanish teacher returned to her home last month, after many years in this country. She has piqued my interest in living in her country. By now you probably have been to brunch. How was it? Are you learning much about the country? Hope to hear from you. steve balme

Ten people arrived at the bunch today. Good food. Good conversation. Lots of information. Tourists, Yankees, Gingos, all welcome.

What did you eat for brunch? Did you have champagne? Love champagne brunch! I would love more information on the foods available at the brunch.

Beef and more beef... the restaruant Old Maz will have a website with English and Spanish menu shortly.

I'll have some beef with my beef seasoned with beef please. LOL! Sounds good to me. Do you eat hamburgers? Or is that a more American delicacy?
Comment #6 Lee from Pocitos -
Well.. of course they have McDonalds and Burger Kings... McDonalds is always the busiest place at the mall food courts (yuck). Those places aside hamburgers don't seem to be as popular as in the usa and when ordered in restaruants come with lots of stuff somtimes even with eggs on them. Becareful when you order a hamburger that you know that all it comes with it... it may be a huge meal.

Hey, Lee from Pocitos, stop posting questions to yourself under a different alias and then answering them in the next post. It's so obvious what you're doing, and it's annoying.
Comment #8 Lee from Pocitos -
Wish I had the time to do that!

Geez, Big E. You're one to talk. You didn't even take the time to register a name. Lee has been very helpful to me and a lot of others with explaining how things really are in Uruguay. I've read a lot of his posts and I'm very comfortable with making travel plans there now. Back off!

Actually, comments like his are what helps make this forum a great place. Without a diversity of views it would be boring. Sometimes a person who makes a small, flippant comment can help spark new ideas... in this case it may help me spark an interest in talking to my self.

LOL! Don't go telling everyone that you talk to yourself. I love spicy foods and it looks like that has cayanne peppers. I bet it was delicious.

LOL! You talk to yourself? I'll tell you a secret. So do I. I love picture of that dish you posted? What is that? It looks like a fajita pizza thing. Is it a fajita pizza thing?
Comment #13 Lee from Pocitos -
Pizza with Onion, Red Peppers (not hot), Olive, and Cayanne Peppers (hot), tomate sauce, and no cheese.
Comment #14 New toys from toy chest -
Ok. I totally want that. Like now. Right now. Do you think I could make that on my own? What would I use for a crust? A tortilla? A pizza crust. A roundish bread loaf?
