Quiet Places to Work & Have Coffee
| Quiet Places to Work & Have Coffee I am looking for some quiet places in Montevideo where I can take my laptop and books and work and drink coffee and relax. Doesn't have to have WiFi. Does anyone know of any good locations? Thanks!! |
| "Very nice place..."
In ciudad vieja: La Pasionaria2 blocks from Teatro Solis, it worth it! I will let you know if other come to my mind. I know there is a great bookstore in pocitos but I haven´t been there and I don´t remember its name... NOT YENNY! I love Yenny but is too noisy for work. | "Everywhere..."
at the non-busy times!Bar 62 had no customers from 5 to 7pm yesterday... the staff did have the music a bit loud... other places that have specials during those hours might be quite crowded... but other places that are open should be very quiet. 11am to 1pm (before the lunch crowds) is another idea. |
| "Bonafide"
I like Bonafide at Punta Carretas Shopping. It's on the second floor and there usually aren't many people there. |
| "Cafes I know"
Two places I know..cafe in the corner of Jackson and Maldonado, very clean and nice, typical Boliche of Montevideo.Other one, second floor of the big bookshop of what used to be Pablo Ferrando store, in Peatonal Sarandi, and the crossing with Bacacay. Happy working... Martin |
| "Thanks!"
Thanks everyone! No excuses to slack off now! :) |
Comment #608/19/10 18:50Pocitos, Montevideo, Uruguay | "Costa Rican Coffee @ Cafetería Irazú"
We really like the Costa Rican Arabica coffee at Cafe Irazú. Irazú is quiet, good food and atmosphere. Wi-Fi, of course. Just a little far for us to go on a regular basis. Details IRAZÚ Café Gourmet - Juan Carlos Gómez 1315 - Tel.: 915.7434 entre Buenos Aires y Sarandí. Bonus...If you get a taste for their Coffee...you can find it at Tienda Inglesa or right there at the cafe (where it's a little cheaper). It's called REY. We buy the 400g bags, for about 500 pesos. You can get it Whole Bean (Grano) or Ground (Molido)for the same price. I like Bar 62 as well, but never thought of it for work. I'll have to get my timing down. Sweet House on Sarmiento and Franzini is very good as well and usually very quiet, except when they're blasting 80s music. That's a few blocks from us and our default option. |
