Are there good night clubs in Montevideo? How is the nightlife there? I am hoping to make a trip soon and would like to know that I won't have to be stuck in my hotel room all night.

There are plenty of activities. For Americans it can be hard because the nightlife doesn't start until very late... like midnight or 1 or 2 am.
It doesn't often end until 7 am or later... some even want a new law regulating the close time so the bars don't stay open until 10am or noon!

That doesn't sound like a bad thing! When I got out the bars and clubs usually close around 2 or 3 in the morning.. When that time comes, I'm just getting started with my partying.
I am always looking for an after party. So if the clubs don't close around 7am, that would be plenty of time for me to get my partying in!
That site has one short, boring paragraph about night life... the ad for expedia is bigger than your nightlife write up.
Why not include some specific places to go and activities?

So the clubs close at 7am and the bars close at 10am? That;s a whole different world there. Imagine getting up to go to work and all the drunks are still running around. Now that is a new experience.

For the nonspellers: Urugauy and Monte Video is Montevideo (monte-vid-day-o), real estate agents are "Inmobiliaria", and of course Uruguay is not spelled Uraguay. 2506
