| New member, weekly meetings still going on? Buenas...I hope this isn't deemed too novice of a question but I've just joined this site, recently arrived, don't know anyone and plan to spend some time in the country exploring and networking. I'm interested in meeting some expats at the and to that end plan to attend this Thursday's and/or Sunday's dinner/brunch meetings and just wondering if people actually show up? Is there a point person to ask for upon arrival? Thanks!Expert Page: Super Learning: Learn Spanish in South America in Three or Four Days |
| "Meetings...."
It's certainly not too much of a novice question... but in view of the next meeting dates being at the top of every page here... sometimes I wonder why it is a common question.Any suggestions on how to make it more clear that the meetings are ongoing, and that people show up every week... usually between 10 and 15 for the Sunday meetings.... sometimes as many as 45-50... fewer for the Thursday meetings but they haven't been going on for nearly as long. The Sunday meetings started in Nov 2005, and there's not been a Sunday without a meeting since. On Sunday you pretty much can't miss the group. Both meetings start before the usual Uruguayan dining hours... Expert Page: Quick Tips for Getting Settled in Uruguay |
