Hi Mark, Usually when renting for such a short period then tourist prices are pretty unavoidable, but I'd say that it would still be cheaper than a hotel and also with an apartment you have a kitchen so you can cook and also have more privacy. One expat set up a handy site that lists a few places to find short term accommodation in Montevideo, the link is below. My wife and I highly recommend Punta Trouville Apart & Suites. We stayed there on our trip early this year. On a weekly basis daily rate was $67/day. US$/peso exchange rate has probably changed. Moderate pricing with small kitchenette. Extremely nice neighborhood in Pocitos (MVD) one block from rambla. I can provide more details.Armon Suites in same neighborhood, with kichenette, is also recommended. By the way, are you the Mark Sheehan from Maui? We're in Kihei. Lee |
