Danger

Thank author of this post/commentI agree with Sonia that the good weather turns the rambla into one of the favorites places. During the week, the rambla is perfect however during week-ends, it's a different story.

It's like all MVD is coming in one spot and becomes very very busy. I see that plenty of young people are coming from the northern barrios and the suburbs to enjoy the beaches.

The rambla becomes a pedestrian boulevard as well which include bicycles, runners, skaters, dogs, ''gang'' of young, ''machos'', etc...

I think the biggest danger of the rambla during the week-ends is coming from the street and not from the crowd on the rambla. You have a lot of traffic including all the bikes in the street. Unfortunately, you have a lot of people who want to cross everywhere and they do not use the intersection with traffic lights.

The other danger in the night are the races on the rambla from customized cars and this is absolutely crazy, stupid and very noisy! It's seems that the Montevideo transit (I believe this is under the jurisdiction of the city) is not working after 5 o'clock or maybe they don't work on the week-ends at all! It's time to clean up the races from the rambla!

For the nonspellers: Urugauy and Monte Video is Montevideo (monte-vid-day-o), real estate agents are "Inmobiliaria", and of course Uruguay is not spelled Uraguay. 2448056366
