Tough sales job when you advertise without any contact information! What are some good websites to find short term apartment rentals in Montevideo? What is the Spanish word for them?

Is it alright to ask for links and official websites that would show catalogs and prices of apartments in Montevideo? ..or if you are living in Uruguay, besides Montevideo, what other states or regions there which provides a good environment and a place to stay at? Thank you very much.

Absolutely ask for and post links.... the only requirement is that they be related to Uruguay... When adding a link here you can put one link in a message and you need to put the url, including the http in the box labeled "web link".
You cannot put a link or url in the message.

What is the usual price for an apartment and what can we acquire from such apartments? Hope you can help us budget our trip there this year. A response here in the forums will help me and my partner a lot. Thanks.

You have not indicated the usual price range for a day or two in those apartments. They are in your words fully furnished and I am sure they will cost a fortune; factoring in the free internet because I believe in an economically crunched globe, everything comes at a cost. Try providing us with a link. Are there enough sites to take photographs? Memories are worth taking along on your return trip!

Hi everyone, It appears there are lots of questions here and no answers so let me try help out with that I know.
There's a growing number of furnished short-term rental apartments in Montevideo (and other touristic areas like Punta del Este). Unfortunately there is no ONE main place to look for these, they are scattered in many different places.
Here I am just talking about holiday apartments for short-term rental. These are furnished, usually in the nicer areas of Pocitos, Punta Carretas and Buceo. The prices can range drastically so its hard to give an idea.
Shirley has put together a website listing all the places for short-term accommodation as alternatives to hotels. You can check it out here:

Oh and the Spanish word can be "alojamiento temporario" which is temporary lease
"alquileres temporadas" - temporary rentals
apartmento is the word for (you guessed it!) apartment! These are what Americans would call condos.
If you check out buscandocasa.com (link below) they have 2 sections you can look at - 1 is for "vacaciones" (these are rentals usually by the day or week) and "alquileres anuales" (which means yearly rentals) also has some apartments available for short term periods of 3 or 6 months, 6 months is more normal, 3 month leases are rare.
Hope this helps!
