wanting to move to the cool spot, not hot area, what would a small casita cost to rent or buy somewhere in Uruguay where it is cool weather.. So many thanks

The weather is seasonal here. What may be cool in the winter (now) may be hot in the summer (Dec-Mar).

Rent something on a beach in the East. Most days, even when it's hot, the ocean breeze will cool things down. And if it gets really hot, wade into the water...

Hello, If you want find homes or apartments for rent in Uruguay let me suggest you to pick up a location first. If you are planing to live near the beach you could choose Pocitos in Montevideo, but you need to know that the "Río de la Plata" (Silver River) is a big see but it's not the ocean. To get to the Atlantic's waters you need to go east for at least 1hour and you will find Piriápolis, a very nice town on the beach, very quiet during the winter and not as crowdy as Punta del Este during the summer. In Punta del Este, regardrless of what many people might say, is the only ocean-side city where you can live the kind of life you choose, from enjoying the beach or the fireplace peacefully to trying out the Casino or attending to a Liza Minnelli's concert. If you choose to go further east you should definitely be looking for mother's nature's peace of mind. If you want to get a snapshot of the Uruguayan coastline I suggest you to look for Montevideo on Google Earth and check out the East Coast. To get the gist of the real estate market we use "El País" classifieds (el "Gallito Luis"). If you want me to find something fore you please visit my website (check my profile) and let me know. Good luck!

Hello Ana, I will be looking for an apartment from Feb-Aug of 2008 for myself and two other women. Is your apartment available during that time?

good neighborhood near downtown area, near grocery, restaurants and main bus lines. Near park or with park or ocean view (or both) a plus. 1 bedroom on main living area floor, second bedroom same floor or loft considered. 1 or 2 baths, space for clothes washer and dryer desired. Nicely maintained building. Third to fifth floor best.
