Work as a psychologist

Thank author of this post/commentMy friend is a pshchologist with a PhD and many years of experience. We run a mental health agency in North Carolina. Ella no hablas espanol.(as you can tell, mine is pretty poor too) She wonders if there is a possibility of work for her in MVD. What are the requirements etc.?

Thank author of this post/commentFrom my experience in Uruguay I have found that fluent, or at least proficient Spanish is essential in order to be employed here.

The english speaking expat community is small (in an already small country) and unless you are providing a service that many people would use then you will not have enough clients to make a decent living. I can't imagine every english speaking expat will need a psychologist.

Academic work and research may be an option

Thank author of this post/commentYou might see if you can offer telephone consultations via voip to clients back in the USA.

Your best bet for living in Uruguay is when you can "work in the USA" at the same time.
