I am great daily reader of this forum and would like some urgent information.My mother has been diagnosed with breast cancer and we have to try to obtain some information for her treatment. It is an initial case of this terrible disease and we know that if you start early there is more hope for the patient. We have been told that the fees overseas are much lower than the U.S. fees. We have thought of some South American countries like Colombia, Argentina and Uruguay. So this is to ask for information from people who know these countries. Uruguay first and foremost, that we have heard great things about! Gob bless all! |

My friend and neighbour Ricado was diagnosed with prostate cancer a year ago and after much research and consultation, he decided to opt for daily radiotherapy treatment at the Fleming Clinic in Buenos Aires. He commuted daily from Valdense to Buenos Aires (via Colonia and Buquebus) and was fortunate in finding a local charity which helped him with the bus/ferry expenses. I used to accompany him on Mondays and Thursdays.The course of treatment cost him 10k U$S and thus far (touch wood) he seems to be clear of the complaint. |

I just underwent surgery for the same cancer and am still recovering. They believe they got it all, but just in case I am somewhat comforted that treatment is available. |
