Summit of South American Leaders

Thank author of this post/commentThere has been a summit of South American Presidents in Montevideo the last couple of days.

The most noticable thing is the constant sirens as they drive up and down the Rambla... that is striking contrast to the usual quiet. You rarely hear sirens in Montevideo (at least not in Pocitos).

It also seemed that all the green dumpsters disappeared on the Rambla. Montevideo is full of green dumpsters which do an excellent job at keepin g the city clean.

Apparently they didn't want the Presidents to see the green dumps as they drove up and down the Rambla.

Thank author of this post/commentWhat was the summit meeting about do you know? Also what countries are we talking about here? Was it just for the South American countries or were there other countries of the world involved as well.

How many days did this summit go on and is there a news article anywhere that we could read up on it?

The Summit was a thing that had all been about making people feel as though the world was coming together in order to deal with major issues in development. I really think that it is just a big show for the public, however, as nothing ever gets done after the summit and people of the world just tend to be taken for a ride, so to speak.

I can't see Lee's original post date. But the most recent "summit" I recall was actually not a summit but the ceremony for the Presidency change in Uruguay. Anyway that was on absolutely all news, so I wander if the posts are older.
