From the date of your post...Spring in November? Wow, here is the US it is fall and usually freezing cold. It amazes me how drastically different different parts of the world can be!!

Have a look at a map. Uruguay is far south and east of the United States... I think by air you have a 10 hr non-stop flight south from Miami.Unlike the tropical parts of South and Central America, Uruguay has distinct seasons. Cold in the winter, though never below freezing and hot in the summer. In Pocitos there is always a good breeze off the water.
The seasons are exactly opposite that of the United States and clocks are changed back and head, but oppositely. So on Sunday when you turn your clocks BACK we turn our FORWARD. This is the first time I've experienced the change on the same day. Before it has always been a 2 week or so difference.
We go from being 3 hours ahead of New York to 1 hour. So if my posting times look like I get up way too early, it's not as bad as it looks... at 4:30 am in New York would be 7:30 am here.

This Sunday we SPRING ahead an hour. We're about three weeks early on doing this. But that's OK. In October we FALL back. I know that you're in a different hemisphere so your seasons are opposite from ours.

If it wasn't for the news reminding me to set our clocks ahead, I would have forgotten. I always expect it the weekend of Easter. I forgot it was change to hopefully save energy.

We made the time change three weeks early this year. I don't care what the reason is. I love Daylight Savings Time. I love longer hours of sunshine.

Yes I totally agree with you that the longer hours during the day are great. I hate it when in the winter it gets dark at 4 in the afternoon and stays that way till 7 in the morning. It means that I get up in the dark to go to work and leave work in the dark to go home again and very rarely get to see any sunshine.
I like the different seasons but that part of winter is just horrid as far as I'm concerned.

This is a good topic to start from. What kind of weather do you prefer, a tropical weather (only sunny and rainy season) or an all four seasonal type of weather (Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, )?

of course, now fall is here... Saturday we went from 90 some degrees to 60 or so Sunday morning... About May 1st the apartment buildings with central heat will be turning it on.
