Is Uruguay Boring?

Thank author of this post/commentI've heard a lot of people express the fact that living in Uruguay is boring and after reading about other countries in the same area I can now understand why they would feel that way.

There isn’t enough spectacular crime there! Sure, there are run-of-the-mill purse snatchings, amateurish muggings, inept burglaries, some very boring occasional robberies gone bad, and the usual tawdry crimes of passion. But compared to some of the places I’ve read about, Uruguay’s crimes are virtually non-existent.

What a wonderful place to live. I think I could easily get used to being bored after living in a thriving Metropolis.

I think I would love to be in Uruguay when I retire, considering your post I think there are lots of great things that I am about to experience in this country. Not to mention that there are a less or at some point zero crime rate in the said country. Though some would claim that Uruguay is a boring place to live, I would still prefer to live in a place as safe as this country.

Thank author of this post/comment"Is Uruguay Boring?"

If ghastly crimes entertain you, then the ROU really isn't the place you want to be :-)

We had 3 crimes here last August when a couple of kids from the local care home took up burgling but I understand that there is more in the way of non-violent crime elsewhere.

In my view, life is what you make it. If you can make local friends and get involved in the local community, you won't be bored. As to crime, a home insurance policy is your friend :-)

"Boring"

There's no boring place. There may be bored people.

For the nonspellers: Urugauy and Monte Video is Montevideo (monte-vid-day-o), real estate agents are "Inmobiliaria", and of course Uruguay is not spelled Uraguay. 1943114790
