Best Weather to Visit
Best Weather to Visit I am planning a trip to Uruguay and would like to know the best time to visit. What time of the year do Uruguay have the best weather?
I guess you can go pretty much any month if you are not concern about swimming. If you want to visit during tourist season then you can visit around April. The weather should be great around thid month.
Yesterday was a terrible day... cold and rainy. It's just starting to be the time to check whether you need a jacket before you go out or not.See Chucks blog from yesterday for the photo: "Pocitos beach is no longer packed like it was in summer . The soccer stadium is gone, as are the volleyball nets and port-a-potties and the beach cleaning seems much less frequent. I'm sure there will be more nice days full of sunbathers but today the beach had a real off-season feel." Make sure to click on his like "in summer" to see the contrasting photo.
Thanks for the link to the blog. I just glance it and looks like a lot of up to date information. So the weather is not that good in April? I know we are experiencing cold and rainy weather, too.
I would visit around spring or summer. The weather is very nice in spring but it can get very humid in the summer. Here are the seasons and months: Summer: jan., feb. march. Fall: april, may, june. winter: july, august, september spring: october, november, december.
Thanks for including the chart with the seasons. I think the best time for me would be the summer months. I really like to take my vacations the first part of the year. I stay close to home in the summer months.
How cold is it during a Uruguay winter?
It might get a few degrees below freezing on the occasional night... probably never below freezing during the day. Never snow. Often windy (in Montevideo).Heating, weatherstriping, insulation, etc in many houses/apartments is not to the standards we're used to in the Northern USA... so one might feel much colder in their house in Montevideo in the winter... than in their house in Michigan in the winter.
How about during the Summer? How is the weather like in Uruguay? I am currently at a very tropical country here in Asia and I can say that the effects of Global Warming can truly be felt in this country. How about in Uruguay?
Comment #904/12/09 13:35Rural east Colonia departmento | Uruguayan weather usually ignores the climate statistics... 4 seasons in a day is not unusual :-)We had a very dry summer this year and although last week was cold and rainy, it has cheered up for "The Week of Tourism" (secular-speak for Holy Week) and I've been swimming in the pool the last few days. In my view the best weather here comes in late November/early December and in March/April as its usually (but not always) warm by day with a strong sun but cool by night. The big holiday season is January and February when the weather is at its hottest. Winter was exceptionally cold 2 winters ago but quite pleasant last year. It is often relieved by "veranitos" (little summers) which can con you into thinking that spring has come early. In a nutshell, Uruguay does weather rather than climate. Patrick. |
