| Managing a hotel in Montevideo An Australian couple are looking for a person to manage a small Pension (hotel) in downtown Montevideo Uruguay. People rent rooms by the month and generally stay quite a while, so its not much work, and of course the job includes free rent and utilities. There are 12 rooms, three bathrooms a kitchen and a roof top terrace. We have recently purchased the property and are in the process of remodelling and bringing the hotel more upmarket. Currently the business is not bringing in alot of cash so we can't afford a huge salary, but hey, its free accommodation in a great location and not too much work. Applicants must have fluent Spanish, be neat, tidy and presentable with a good work ethic and high integrity. The job involves taking care of the place, feilding phone and door inquiries and collecting rent. Interested parties can call us on 099 644 525 |
| "Great job opportunity"
That sounds like a great little set up you're offering someone! Just a word of warning, I would be very careful about who you hire and preferably have them work with you for a few months before you take off and trust them.I worked in the hospitality industry here for a few months and in my experience (and the experience of the owner) it is not uncommon to be let down by staff, you'd want to be sure you can really trust them, especially if you plan to go far away and leave them in control. I might know a few people who would be interested. Is the post permanent or short term? I understand the wage will be low as accommodation is included but could you give a ball-park wage? and maybe put up a few pictures of the place or do you have a website people could look at? |
| "Rooms by the Month"
That looks like a great opportunity for someone... but I think there is another great opportunity for you and your missing the boat big time!U.S. and other Expats seem desperate to find short term rentals. Just from your job description it sounds like your hotel would be a prime choice for many of these expats... BUT... you don't give a hint of how someone might actually stay there for example: address, website, photos, information such as wifi, etc. Could you make another post with details about your hotel? |
