Buscando para empleo en Uruguay - Looking for work in Uruguay

Hi all,

I live in London UK at the moment and a British EU citizen. I've given up the headache of trying to emigrate to the commonwealth countries like Australia, NZ and Canada for one it's so bloody complex, 2 it can be time wasting and end up in disapointment. Why not South America? there are plenty of people in Argentina and Uruguay and a lesser extent Chile and Brazil of British, Irish, Dutch and German decent.The trouble is with most Brits wanting to move abroad i.e. say to Australia r the States is that they understandibly want to stay within their comfort zones and never put themselves out wanting to learn the host language. Regarding South America I've only been to Argentina that was in 1998, I've heard things have improved for Argentines work and financial wise since then. Then there's low key Uruguay, you'll be suprised that so many average Brits have never even heard or know where Uruguay is!

Have any of you expats currently living there been to the interior yet, have seen the Montevideo cricket club?

Not sure how true this is, but I've heard that so many qualified proffessionals are leaving Uruguay each year for a better life abroad from architects, doctors, chefs etc. I've heard that a doctor was only earning an equivalent of �150 a month, she she decide to emigrate to Spain. I work as a small engine mechanic in UK for a Plant Hire firm. So far the only major company I could come across in Argentina and Uruguay was Cat Rental Stores owned by the Finning group.

Do any of you know any Tool and Plant hire companies in Uruguay I could approach for a job?

Info will be much helpful.
