Are there any voluntary soccer coaching schemes in Montevideo?

I am a qualified football coach (English Football Association) and will be travelling to Montevideo for a 3-month trip with my familiy from the end of March to June 2010.

I am hoping to seek out opportunities to further grow my football coaching experience and would be keen to hear of any voluntary schemes in Montevideo for the coaching of children's level soccer (or football as we say in the UK).

Many thanks in advance for any information you can provide.

Institutional clubs have their own coaches, but there are a lot of Children football clubs in the neighbourhoods of Montevideo where the future football players are making their first steps. They are carried on by groups of parents, and are taken seriously (sometimes too seriously for that age), but most haven't ever had professional coach; and I suppose they would be happy to have a short workshop with a professional.

If you know any Spanish, try www.aufi.com.uy. The AUFI (Asociación Uruguaya de Fútbol Infantil), is the asociation of all those children clubs that play in the childrens league.

Mr. Joiner - I think you should try Nacional Futbol Club at

www.nacional.com.uy they are one of the biggest Clubs in Uruguay and they are a very progressive Institution.

Search their website and Daniel Enriquez (Gerente Deportivo) who is a very receptive person I believe he will answer your e-mail and give you all the information you need.

Uruguay has a very good Youth program, especially at Intitution levels.

It's demonstrated every weekend with hundreds of Uruguayans playing at very high levels everywhere in the World with a population of only 3 Million.
