| YouTube: Alan Parsons Project - In the lap of Gods Probably the most complex APP work. This video tries to come closer to that and I hope be worthy of it. The fragility represented on his feet, the tidy chaos of the workers like his tight hieroglyphs, the ascent of the builders to the skies and the approaching to gods (the falcon, not an "eagle will rise..") Anyway, many details that I hope can discover and estimate. Enjoy it and do not forget comments that always encourage to continue producing works, and forgive my english. ;) |
Comment #106/20/10 10:38Santo Domingo, love Uruguay | "The pyramid"
This is really an exquisite video... I did not know Alan Parsons until now and would like to know more. You seem to be very much acquainted with his proyect. The images are amazing, and bring to life that Egyptian civilization that grew to be so great and then got caught up in very human weaknesses and pride. Also amazing is that many of the buildings and temples are still standing, such as the pyramids. Even their bodies are still there for us un the form of the mummies that reveal their innermost secrets to us. We know what their subjects didīt know: That their kings and queens were nothing more than ordinary people! How sad... |

A fine bit of mid-70s musical nostalgia. It marked the end of analog electronic keyboard music in the form of the mellotron... not the German band of the 1990s but the large keyboard instrument containing thousands of mini pre-recorded tapes. They were popular with early 70s super-groups, took hundreds of man hours to build and required tape changes after every performance (as tapes tended to stretch and/or break) but I still reckon that the sound they produced was unique and very different to modern digital synthesizers. My great nephew tells me that they are making a comeback in Europe. |
| "Quite popular in Uruguay"
They are quite popular in Uruguay and played here a few years ago.. and seemed surprised everyone knew all their songs. |
