Hola to anyone-everyone. I am moving to Uruguay starting this Oct. after 19 mos. narrowing down countries. Still have so much to learn!Moving to multi-invest AND locate full time home site. Will rent/lease 6-12 months before deciding on that but want to commence investments ASAP. And there is my dilemma!! My "Mexican Spanish" is only good for past work experience and will do little good in Uruguay. I NEED CONTINUAL LESSONS ONCE THERE to become fairly fluent over next couple of years. HELP!!! I want my new found local friends to know "what the he-- is he saying!!! Am 66 yrs. young and there is so much to experience in life for many decades so I must get going!! Can anyone tell me where to go (you know what I mean)for great Spanish tutoring from scratch and on---- Your guidance and suggestions (be kind now!)will be greatly appreciated. Respectfully requested, Tom

Hi Tome, I got confused by your post there. I respect your personal point of view towards your age..well I feel old at my age now.. I am glad you think your still young there :) But according to your post you need a language teacher right? Well, have you tried searching the net for information or self advertisements of eligible applicants? There are a lot of them in the net. Just find time to search.

There are plenty of teachers in Uruguay who will be able to help you with your Spanish. If I were you, however, I'd be concerned about health insurance. I am close to, but have not turned 50 yet, and although I have no serious health issues, I was very recently rejected by two major health insurances in Uruguay (the British Hospital and Medicina Personalizada). The reason: I am overweight. Mind you, I am not a blob... I am 6'1" and 255 lbs. I can lose the weight and possibly qualify when I return to Uruguay next year. But my point is... it's --apparently-- not easy to get good quality health insurance in Uruguay for people in a certain age range and who do not meet certain pre-established local standards. • Page 1 (Original Post) •
