| Wish to relocate to montevideohi all. really want to relocate to montevideo. ive searched plenty of sites but having been satisfied with the financial feasibility; namely, what work can one get? my background swings from dishwasher to stock broker. i can live extremely cheaply (lived in alaska with no electricity or running water) but will need to earn roughly $900 monthly to remit to the us. am i dreaming? sounds like if i could make $1800 i could survive. im well educated, extremely professional, and (i might add) have a rather nice appearance. real estate sales? any intl corps to research? thanks all. ive never focused on moving somewhere and not made it work. hope to see you all for lunch on sundays, maybe as soon as next summer (09). |
|  Boreas-Boy. It depends of you, but trying to live in UY on 1, 800 and exporting 1, 000 will be bare bones as hell. Uruguay in NOT cheap right now. There's a link above to an article that will be helpful. Steve |

Its a matter of the exchange rates and the current state of the Uruguayan economy. When the dollar is strong and the economy is in crashed mode, the ROU seems cheap. OTOH when the dollar is weak and Uruguay is doing well, the country seems expensive. |
