Thank author of this post/commentHi Zina,

the local Citibank will open you a combined account (investments, savings account, etc.) if your initial amount is above USD 100.000. Otherwise they will charge you every month.

There are several ways to prove your income, but one of the most important matters for Immigration will be the sources.

Regards,

Thank author of this post/commentHi Zina,

you should provide a proof for the source and the amount you are receiving monthly. The locally a Public Notary will certify same. If you have a Notary who speaks the language in which these matters are written, maybe you won't need to legalize this proof and let them translate afterwards which involves additional costs to the residency process.

Very important: the source must be accepted by Immigrations and it MUST be of a minimum of USD 500 a month.

Kind regards,

Hello Peter

My only income proof is my bank account, hope is ok.

I would like to ask you if is possible to came for a mounth in Uruguay, preper all the documments and live them to immigration for residency status, and then came back to my country? I meen one month is enought? I read in other sites that is not nessesary to stay in Uruguay for the all time how long will take the ressidency procces, just have to enter once a year, it is true?

Thank author of this post/commentHi Zina,

it is possible to come to Uruguay, file the application for residency and leave. But as I told you, a bank account is not a proof of income for Uruguayan Immigrations. So you will have to figure out how to manage this matter before trying to file the application.

Kind regards,

Peter Stross

Issues to deal with residency can be best dealt with in the Immigration Departments. They will able to advise you accordingly considering online applications(if any exist).

Try the online searches but I can see good help in Peter Stross.

Thank author of this post/commentDon't expect anything to be online in Uruguay! The Immigration Department is improving (although very slowly!). Their office in Montevideo (in Ciudad Vieja) has just had a big make-over and the lines don't seem to be AS long as they were in the past, but applying online is a long long way off!

Peter is THE source for immigration assistance, but it is also possible to do it yourself if you're proactive (or can't afford it like me!).

There's a great step-by-step guide to immigration in the Total Uruguay Guide. Check it out here:
